Women’s University in Africa, Marondera Campus, Lending a Helping Hand to Our Elderly Community Members
On the 9th of May 2024, the students and lecturers of the Women’s University in Africa’s Marondera Campus embarked on a heartwarming journey to Idawekwako Old People’s Home. We are thrilled to share the incredible experience of the social work students who exemplified the true essence of Corporate Social Responsibility. They provided the elderly residents with essential food items, extending their support to those who have dedicated their lives to shaping our society and nurturing future generations.
The visit to Idawekwako Old People’s Home was more than just a charitable act, it was a celebration of the invaluable wisdom and knowledge that our elderly community members possess.
Our students and lecturers were deeply moved by the vibrant spirit, resilience, and stories shared by the elderly residents. It was a humbling experience to witness their strength and the lessons they imparted, reminding us of the importance of cherishing and respecting our elders.
We sincerely thank all the students and lecturers who participated in this initiative. Your dedication and compassion have significantly impacted the lives of these wise individuals.
Let us foster a culture of empathy, understanding, and support within our university and beyond. By embracing Corporate Social Responsibility and extending a helping hand to the elderly in our society, we can create a more compassionate world for all.
Together, we can make a difference!
